Quienes andaban llorando por el supuesto hueco dejado por Aerobitch tras su separación (hace cosa de un par de años) dentro del panorama punk-rock nacional de bandas con aguerrida voz femenina al frente, ya pueden lanzarse de cabeza a por The Capaces, porque su mezcla del mejor punk onda Dead Boys o Misfits junto a una rabiosa facción más hardcore a lo Poison Idea os hará explotar la cabeza en mil pedazos.
Como si hubieran aparecido de la nada aunque ya llevaran tiempo detrás de este artefacto, The Capaces son toda una revelación que no podemos pasar por alto.

Si bien no son un grupo que se prodigue demasiado en directo, este "Born to punk" alerta excelentes maneras en todos y cada uno de los instrumentistas; Batería encajada a la perfección en cada compás a la que le sigue un bajo intenso y preciso. Las guitarras rugen a más no poder y por encima de todo destaca la voz de Martillo, incesante y taladradora como hacía tiempo que no escuchaba en un grupo nacional. Y todo ello bajo la excelente producción de Santi García, conocido por sus trabajos con grupos de gran renombre como los precoces Tokyo Sex Destruction.
Once temas que discurren en veintidós atronadores minutos en donde no se nos deja respirar ni un solo instante. Tema tras tema, canción tras canción, The Capaces aclaman a gritos su hueco y un escenario donde dejarte pasmado...

Tear It All Down is the upcoming release from L.A.'s Pistol Grip due out around August 2004. Pistol Grip is back and this time doesn't disappoint! Tear It All Down picks up where "The Shots From the Kalico Rose" left off and where "Another Round" should have picked up at. The third outing by Pistol Grip exhibits well written lyrics that are anthematic and catchy as well. Might I add the guitar riffs are better than ever also. Tear It All Down is the best thing Pistol Grip has done to date and proves they deserve a spot in punk rock's elite.

Generation 69 officially formed in late '96. Although the band members had gotten together since 1995, it was not until a year later that they began to rehearse cover versions of the Last Resort, Angelic Upstarts, The Business, Peter & The Test Tube Babies, etc. The line up then consisted of Kojack on vocals, Wan Shah on guitars, Kim on bass & Pekjal on drums.

In 1998, Pekjal was sentenced to prison due to one charges too many & this resulted in the delay of their debut 'Skinhead' demo. A few months back, Ismail had been invited as 2nd guitarist & he then got his cousin Boy Amin as a substitute on the drum seat. The band finally got in the recording studio & 'Skinhead' demo was released in February 1999. This line-up was one of their best so far & things were to remain unchanged for the next 5 years.

After receiving rave reviews both in & out of Singapore about their tape, they proceeded to record their 2nd demo - Trouble on the streets. It was released in November 2000 after much discussion within the band itself. The band has now gone from strength to strength in releasing all their albums & have even been in some top-notch compilations around the world.


2001 saw the band signing on the dotted lines of the contract with Malaysian's top streetpunk label, Clockwork Records for their debut 'Strength Thru Strength' album. It was finally released on the first week of 2002 but the band did not manage to play any gigs to support this release as Wan Shah was too busy doing national slavery. That particular album had also caught the eyes of Europe's elite & best in DSS Records. A deal was struck & DSS liked the band so much that they helped them re-release 'Strength Thru Strength' for sale worldwide. Generation 69 had become the first-ever Oi! band to have their album released by a European label.

For 2003, Generation 69 were ready to go in the studio again to record their 2nd album titled - 'Not Just Another band'. This was in response of the struggle they had for the past 7 years throughout the band's difficult times, They were banned in a lot of places (ain't telling where's that!), someone got backstabbed, ran into financial difficulties, favourism amongst fellow-musicians & had their wives left them with their tails between their legs. But the major news turned out to be the sacking of vocalist Kojack after some serious in-band discussions. Generation 69 became sick of all that & the thought of splitting even came to mind. What could happen next? Amidst all that, they persevered & now, only the future could tell what lies beneath the iron curtain...

Des singapouriens à en juger les horribles drapeaux brandis sur la couvrante d'une pochette moche avec juste les paroles. Apparemment c'est leur premier album, 14 titres en anglais dont une reprise de "skinhead times" d'Oppressed. Ils ont l'air un peu con même s'ils font l'effort d'écrire des textes un peu fouillés, paroles sur la trahison, le foot, l'amitié, la baston et les filles (pardon, les salopes). Par contre c'est efficace niveau musical, street punk très marqué oi!, dommage qu'ils chantent pas en chinois ça aurait été terrible et j'aurai pas pu critiquer! ahah!

The X-Possibles are a self-described punk band hailing from New York City. They use words like pop-punk and hardcore as well – you get the picture. Their recent release entitled Blood Everywhere is their first full-length, and it stomps around in familiar hard-edged rock territory. With titles like “You Make Me Ill” and “Zombieotic,” I think you can imagine what this band sounds like.

Tibbie X, lead female vocalist, has a pretty screaming, snarling voice that is really all that might set this band apart from the others. By the others I mean the mass of bands that all sound like angry kids, playing loud music with nothin’ much to say and no new way to say it. The X-Possibles, completed by Rikki Chips on lead guitar, Bobby “Teen Idol” on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Body on bass and Avital on drums, go as far as to “borrow,” or rather copy, the opening notes of the 60’s hit “Brand New Cadillac.” Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer the way Vince Taylor and the Playboys did that song. In addition, there are several surf guitar riffs that sound really very familiar. Nothing discredits a band like using other people’s music throughout “your” record.

That said, there is one song “What About Me,” which seems like it could really be one of those songs that plays while some teenager’s confusion and heartbreak plays out across your television screen one Wednesday night. This is meant as a compliment, somewhat. If you think like I do, this means having your one-hit-wonder be on a teen soap opera. Not usually the most hip way to go out, but at least someone would hear one of your songs.

4 more great songs from this awesome U.K. band. This 7" (blue vinyl!) is really simple as far as packaging goes (I kinda expected more) - lyrics, band logo, that's it. But I'm not complaining, the 7" rocks - great lyrics, great music - reminds me of Oi Polloi and A.O.A.

What’s this shit? 3 Feet Smaller? All right put it in! It’s on that note that the band opens their third full-length to date, with the logical title being “Third Strike”. Austria’s bowling punks return with a cracker, as from moment one it is clear that 3FS means serious business with this one! Opener “Punk?” really sets the tone for the thread that ties most of these songs together with some fabulous lyrics. The cynism and sarcasm droops from their compositions once more like honey from a bee-hive as 3FS extends a big middle finger to naysayers with witty lines such as “We don’t have Mohawks, we’re not Punk Rock, we just suck. So what?”. The message throughout is clear: the band doesn’t give a dime about opinions, beliefs, expectations and misconceptions because they basically just do what they want. The style of music 3FS measured themselves is subject to a lot of criticism nowadays, and this resulted in a frustrated edge, a sort of desperation that glooms from these tracks, that gave the whole an anthemic urgency that guides, envelopes and booms from most of these compositions, making them very hard to neglect in the process.

The progression since “Insert Album Title Here” is of such an amplitude that the band seems to have undergone a complete make-over. Like with their previous release, the band really plays out the big choruses to perfection, but instead of the poppyness displayed before, there is now a hard, unforgiving edge to their compositions. The vocal harmonies are still of very high quality throughout, as Marcus’ voice lends itself perfectly to different stylistic approaches. Shouts on “Strike Back” and “Dance With Me”, a sort of rap-styled vocals that remind of Eminem on “Reason Unknown” easily one of the standout tracks of the album (I just love it when the song drops to mid-pace and Marcus’ voice becomes the focal point. The way he can put so much emotion in that track is awe-inspiring and gets me pumped up every time), and “I’ve Done Wrong” that sounds like a mix of Eminem’s Stand and the hit-single by Germany’s Liquido.. Musically, it is clear the band chose a more direct and straightforward approach and that they have found a balance in their song dynamics that really serves their compositions to come out in a more convincing way. Gone are the Ska-rhythms and somewhat of the goofyness (still detectable in intro and outro and the Vienna chainsaw massacre, which aren’t really songs but part of some sketches) that accompanied previous compositions which made these songs just that tad more accessible and enjoyable. Whether it are fast, straight-in-your face tracks or songs with a more laid-back groove like on “Alone In The Dark” (with the singer from Naca7 on backup vocals) or “Scared”, the band pulls it off with great ease. Just listen to “Fade Away”, a chunky song where Marcus’ voice gets played out against that of Philipp from “Dump”. The way they play out the English verse against the Austrian German (if I can call it that) verses is very commendable, and certainly not easy to do. Often enough, the opposition between different languages works in a repulsive way, but credit to the band because it works miraculously well here. Just like the minimalistic “Angelstar”, an ode to a deceased friend. It seems these kind of acoustic arrangements have become a necessity on most releases in such a way that mostly they seem more like a nuisance to me than actually adding an extra value of any sort but it needs to be said all objections fade away like dust in a storm when it’s pulled off in such a convincing way. That song just gives me goose bumps all over.

To conclude: Third Strike is loud, fast, bombastic and hits the bulls eye on a many occasion with big, effective and infectious choruses that are likely to ricochet in that thick skull of yours for days on end. This might be the kind of album that really propels this band a step further on the ladder and gives them the kind of attention they truly deserve. Best I’ve heard from European soil in ages! I could easily compare this band to the likes of Blink 182, Midtown and other Simple Plan’s, but what stands out from all these tracks is that 3FS just does what they want in their own unique way! This is their life, this is their way, this is a great album, not more to say!

Although a MOTORHEAD tribute on Victory Records may turn a few heads, one listen to this and it will be obvious that a bunch of hardcore bands can do some really great things with a bunch of Motorclassics. Highlights of the comp are the GROOVIE GHOULIES with "R.a.m.o.n.e.s.", SPEED DEALER with "Motorhead", INTEGRITY with "Orgasmatron" and ZEKE with "I'll Be Your Sister." None of the bands do anything to out of the ordinary with the tunes except TERRA FIRMA who dish out a bizarre version of "Bomber". This is definitely something for fans of Lemmy and company but isn't going to be of much interest otherwise.


A tribute to the legendeary Motorhead. This album is going to rock harder than Lemmy's liver with a lineup of Blood For Blood, Integrity, No Innocent Victimm Zeje, Dropkick Murphy's and more.

Influenced by such bands as NOFX, Bad Religion, New Found Glory, and Jimmy Eat World, DLD got their start about four years ago, when bassist Jesse Rendell joined Ryan Ogren (lead vocals and guitar) and Matt Emburgia (lead/rhythm guitars), who had been playing in various bands together since the eighth grade. Cuando, a finales de los años 90, se separan los legendarios PLEASURE FUCKERS (mítico quinteto multi-cultural de españoles, americanos e ingleses -batalladores y viejos conocidos del amplio circuito Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll de todo el mundo-), los cuatro Fuckers -Norah, Mike, Barnaby y Angel- no pueden soportar el vacío que les había dejado el bajar de los escenarios y así, en 1999, nace SIN CITY SIX, con la voz del británico Lee Robinson (ex –A10, Fortunate Sons).

En septiembre de 2000 entran a grabar con Locomotive Music lo que sería su álbum de debut. El disco se grabó con Andy Shernoff, bajista de The Dictators, como productor y salió al mercado, simplemente, bajo el nombre del grupo.

SIN CITY SIX llegan a tocar en casi 150 conciertos (en Barcelona fueron teloneros del gran padrino del punk Iggy Pop) con Lee al frente de la banda por toda España, así como una gira de 25 fechas por Europa. Durante estos shows se mostraron más incombustibles y demoledores que nunca, demostrando que lo suyo era (y ahora vuelve a ser), sin duda, el más puro y más salvaje Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll.

El jueves 27 de diciembre de 2001, a las 20h30, muere Lee Robinson a los 44 años de edad, víctima de cáncer. Antes de morir, Lee le insistió al grupo en que la historia debía continuar…

Ya te puedes preparar para el que, sin duda, será uno de los mejores discos de punk-rock nacional del año. “Kill Your T.V.” es el segundo larga duración de los madrileños 4TEEN KILLERS y contiene doce joyitas punkrockeras, un cocktail explosivo a modo de dos partes de punk, una parte de rock, unas gotas de Buzzcocks, una pizca de Social Distortion y un poco de The Muffs, todo ello bien servido en formato vinilo (con una versión de ABBA como tema extra, “Ring Ring”) o en formato CD (que incluye como extras la versión de los Lords Of The New Church “Holy War” y el video-clip “Candy”). Después de su debut con “Last Summer” se han ido a los estudios de Mikel Biffs (Safety Pins) para grabar los temas de este nuevo disco que saldrá publicado bajo la etiqueta de H-Records. Como bien nos tenia acostumbrados Ixma (bajo) a cantar en castellano, aquí se lanza con dos temas “Quejándote” y “La Suerte” que bien te pueden recordar a La Broma de Satán, por su parte Paquita (guitarra y voz) sigue interpretando los temas tanto en francés ”Make Up Your Mind” como en inglés ”Disaster”, “Teenager Precious”, “I Saw The Red” o el que da título al álbum ”Kill Your T.V.”. Altamente recomendable, pepinazos punkrockers casi todos de 1 minuto largo con sonido, letras ácidas, irónicas de pelotas y muy bien curradas. Me han flipado... "Gora España" por ejemplo, me recuerdan a unos Decibelios rebotados en su mejor época. "El Problema Vasco", verdades como puños en 30 segundos y asi los 13 temas, no sobra ninguna, sin paja ni cartón de don Simón!!

**Increible el MCD presentación de esta banda. Mezclando el emo con el hardcore melódico de una manera increible. Dejaron el listón muy alto.

Los madrileños han sufrido una notable evolución en su estilo, algo normal, pues hace ya bastante tiempo desde que salió su anterior MCD, y abandonan sus melodías cercanas al hardcore melódico para adentrarse en otras cargadas de una mezcla de rabia y emotividad, que encajan de forma idónea con la voz de Daniel, muy desgarrada y que, tanto con su anterior estilo como con el actual, le dan un aire distintivo y especial a la banda. Aquí nos incluyen 12 temas muy intensos, con unas letras bastante buenas, como las de “Alguien” o “Una cabeza para poder pensar”. El único tema que se sale de la línea del CD es “Dogma”, un tema rápido, corto y contundente, que demuestra que esta gente hace buena música, sea el estilo que sea.

Kloakâo Obrigado!!

CD-EP. Verano del 2000. ¿Que por qué un EP? ¿Y por qué no?. La idea era sacar algo que se vendiese a precio de maketa, y eso es los que se hizo, un cd con 5 canciones por 500 pelas. El resultado ha sido bastante bueno, por lo menos se ha movido bastante mas rápido que el anterior "Veiculo longo!!!".

Fue grabado en un local de Torrelavega con un 8 pistas digital en treinta y pico horas mas o menos (Iván Castañeda movió las teclas) y después se mandó a masterizar a Sonido XXI (Navarra). La edición y distribución corrió a cargo de Potencial Hardcore (Vallekas) y FAK Records (Santander). Todo lo referente a maquetación y diseño fue curro de Kloakâo, (la foto de la portada la hizo Pepito). De este "Obrigado!!!" la primera canción "Arboricidio" ha sido incluida en dos recopilatorios: uno, "Hardcore Latino 2000" por Fragment (Juanji, Burgos) y el otro el Cd incluido en un numero del ´zine 100% Papel de WC, por WC Records (Nacho, Madrid), también la canción "Panem et circenses" fue incluida en un recopilatorio del ´zine "Tóxico" hecho por el Pintxos (Madrid) bueno, esto que sepamos...

Hasta aquí todo lo que se ha editado, en estos momentos se están preparando nuevas canciones para un próximo Cd, los temas que tratará los puedes encontrar en la página principal de esta web (Primera Plana) así como las letras de las canciones, que se irán añadiendo según se vayan terminando.

Aqui os traigo este cd compartido por estas dos bandas, con uno sonido aceptable y unas letras acidas, quizas mas bien eskorbutero pero sin llegar a tanto que no hay nadie que se les parezca a estos ultimos, el disco no es una maravilla pero esta entretenido para escuchar un rato.

**Hardcore, un poco del estilo de los 80's y mucha fuerza para hacer pogear hasta al que menos . Asi defino a esta banda de California que lleva un rato de estar tocando (1993) y que ha tenido muy buenas producciones. La mayoria de los integrantes son cristianos y su mejor album es "A Revolution Transmission" y esta a la venta en su sello disquero www.facedownrecords.com que es la sección de música más pesada de la toothandnail. Escucha esta banda si te gusta el buen hardcore.

**Hardcore melódico y emocional en tipo El Corazón Del Sapo. Momentos en los que superan a los maños con creces, mezclados con momentos super bestias tipo emo-chillón frances con ritmos mas punk-hardcore. Las letras políticas a un alto nivel sin caer para nada en tópicos alternando con temas personales y metafóricos. Quizás les faltó producción, pero va sobrado en el resto de aspectos.

**Melodic and emotional Hardcore in type the El corazón del sapo. Moments at which they surpass fully to the maños, mixed with super moments beasts type emo-chillón frances with rates but punk-hardcore. The political letters at a high level without falling for anything in topics alternating with personal and metafóricos subjects. Perhaps they needed production, but it goes exceeded in the rest of aspects.

Historia de la banda:
La banda se forma a principios de 1999 cuando Daniel(BRASILERO) conoce a Carolina(COLOMBIANA) en CARACAS VENEZUELA, en un viaje que realizaba por Sudamerica. Ella en ese momento se encontraba tocando la guitarra en una banda anarkopunk de gran movimiento en la escena venezolana.juntos deciden radicarse en Argentina y es cuando conocen a Juan Ruedy (bajo)quien realizaba el fanzine DIFUNDE LA IDEA y LA RESISTENCIA DISTRO, en ese momento en la bateria estaba PATRICIO, empiezan a armar y ensayar los temas que darian inicio a Migra Violenta. Tambien en 1999 la banda registraria esos temas en lo que seria su primer demo TAPE llamado "No te Calles" donde registran el sonido de sus comienzos un poco mas hc punk con algo de melodia.La banda hace una infinidad de fechas para darse a conocer y transmitir a la vez su mensaje de independencia y autogestion.
Se genera el primer cambio de baterista Ingresaria a la banda Rodrigo. MIGRA graba en ese momento un disco split editado en vinilo junto a Cucsifae, otra banda argentina de gran importancia en la escena hc-under local. El split cuenta con 6 temas registrados en estudio. Apenas empezado el 2001 la banda empieza a girar por otros lugares de ARGENTINA y URUGUAY. Nuevamente, a la vez, se genera un cambio de baterista: Ingresa ALEJO(cucsifae) y graban el primer cd. El mismo se graba entre abril y mayo del 2001.Ya en octubre MIGRA entra nuevamente a grabar 4 temas nuevos con MAURO en la bateria que formarian parte del vinilo-split que comparten con DISARM, banda grind-crust de Italia, Ademas la banda cuenta ya con otro split editado en cd junto a Hydrophobia, banda MEXICANA el cual recopila todos los temas del primer demo junto con los temas del split con CUCSIFAE.
Casi a fin del 2001 se generaria la ultima rotacion de baterista: Alejo (minoria activa) ingresa a la banda para grabar el cd "superficial" y se queda solo para hacer el european tour 2003...

HORDA BASTARDA - Old Skull





Debut de este grupo formados por veteranos miembros de otros destacados grupos de la escena hardcore madrileña como Versvs, Like Peter at Home, Kausa de Alarma o Moho. Desde luego que este Old Skull es una vuelta al hardcore punk de toda la vida, canciones de un minuto o poco más, rápidas, rabiosas, directas, al más puro estilo de lo que era el hardcore en los ochenta, al estilo Black Flag, Minor Trheat, etc. 16 canciones en poco más de 20 minutos dando buena cuenta de un estilo, bastante explotado, pero no por ello menos atractivo para mi, personalmente me encantan las canciones de un minuto, a toda leche, con letras de cierto contenido político y social. Donde los temas siguen un esquema de hardcore clásico algunos con toques más rockeros, otros suenan mucho más punks y con algunas canciones a medio tempo como En el mismo sitio . También destacan temas como La Voz del Odio, Decisión, Nada por Nada, Virus Punk (cuyos coros tienen un cierto aire grind) o Vuelta al 93 que es un homenaje a los primeros grupos de hardcore en Madrid que surgieron en torno a esa fecha.

Grupo punk-hc con letras crudas que te haran mas qu pensar, dos miembros de los disueltos Menos Que Nada y otros dos mas para formar este nuevo grupo de los madriles totalmente Guisatelo Tu Mismo, cd autogestionado, trae una version de los Menos Que Nada y la ultima aunque no entra en las canciones de eskorbuto pero a su manera.

Excelente banda de hardcore que llegan desde el sur, con sus letras directas y una musica expectacular, que mejor no te la pierdas, el disco ya tiene sus añitos pero aun asi no pierde ni un apice de buena musica, buenas letras conjugado con las acciones.

***La ofensiva del Hardcore en Zaragoza continúa y la factoría Mala Raza sigue con el lanzamiento de discos de la fértil escena maña. En este caso con Criatura, banda que se estrena en solitario después del split con Visión Tunel y Le Fil d’Arianne en las qie compartian no solo un disco si no proximidad sonora. Gente Sin Fábricas supone, un paso adelante respecto aquel split. El grupo suena mas compacto, duro y contundente. Hardcore-Punk abierto de miras y tendencias como Post y Metal y la especial caracteristica de ser dos voces (chico, chica) en un ambiente especial, con el protagonismo de la voz de Pepa, que tambien canta en Visión Túnel. Una vez aquí la Criatura resulta mas agresiva y contundente, totalmente acorde con la mayor contundencia de esta banda, de cambios de ritmo mas marcados y guitarras mas duras. Las letras destacablemente elaboradas caminan entre lo personal y lo mas político.

Grabado en el estudio de el Caspas (batería de El Corazón Del Sapo, Visión Túnel...). Todo un referente para las bandas aragonesas "hardcoretas" a la hora de grabar sus trabajos.

***Yo no se por qué, pero Cataluña siempre ha sido una inagotable fuente de grupos Hardcore en todas sus expresiones, quizá es lo que da de sí el clima o es una predisposición natural a la hora del nacimiento, lo que está claro es que de allí no paran de llegarnos auténticos grupazos que marcan diferencias con el resto. En este caso son Xmilk, un cuarteto de Sabadell de lo más interesante que de ser neoyorkino hace tiempo que saldrían en todos los fanzines del mundo, aunque mira, si no los conocen, ellos se lo pierden. Y el que crea que tiene buen gusto no debe perderse los ocho temas que componen "Function", altamente recomendables para fans del Old School Hardcore, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today y demás leyendas, que, aparte de tener una producción de lo más profesional, suena como tiene que sonar el Hardcore, rápido, duro y con mala leche.
