Después del grave accidente de Natxo (Cicatriz), accidente que cortó la carrera del grupo hasta el 91, el cuarteto vitoriano reaparece con su segundo trabajo "4 años, 2 meses y 1 día", el sonido de este disco se acerca a postulados más duros. The sound of "droppage" on my doormat this time signalled the arrival of Sugarcult's new single, "Memory" which is out on June 7th in time for their latest UK tour, which starts on June 13th. "Memory" is the first single from Sugarcult's new album "Palm Trees and Power Lines" you can see the review of the album elsewhere on the website. The single contains the title song "Memory" along with a song, which was published on their Japanese release entitled "Blackout" and followed by an acoustic version of "Memory".

"Memory" starts with that enticing drumbeat which drags you straight into the track. Followed up with the familiar voice of lead singer Tim Pagnotta (or Pagzilla as he has recently been referring to himself). This song has classic "Sugarcult-isms" including the powerful drumbeat and the guitar solos as a break before sucking the listener right back into the pit of the song. Along with those harmonious voices which make Sugarcult's music all so individual.

"Blackout" is considerably slower than "Memory, however this is still a track which keeps the pace moving consistently. You are dragged along in a feeling of not quite being able to relax but not quite able to energise yourself enough. You are left in limbo, which focuses the mind on the song itself helping to give true meaning to this song.

"Memory" in its acoustic version is a song in itself. The energy, which is apparent in the original recording, is lost in this harmonious mix, which carries the pace and the feeling of the song, but on a much calmer level. The guitar solo is still included and amazingly still works even though the feeling in the original version is that this break gives yet more energy to the song. Here the break is more of a reflection of what has already happened. Added to the fact that I am a sucker for acoustic versions, I feel this song works incredibly well!

High Five Drive has taken their brand of dual-vocalist fueled,
supercharged punk rock to more people and places in the 2½ years
since it’s inception than most bands will in their lifetimes.
Described by some as “The best live band in Winnipeg”, they have
recently completed their fifth tour, and have been building a fan
base all over the Canadian map. Plans for yet another cross
Canadian tour, as well as a stint along the west coast of the
United States, are already in the works.

Once they hit the stage, all regard for their own safety is
promptly tossed out the window. Neither broken instruments,
personal injury, nor mid-show vomiting will stop the onslaught of
sound and energy they radiate through each and every song. Blood
is not an uncommon sight for them. This intense live show coupled
with attention-grabbing riffs and meaningful lyrics, has helped
build High Five Drive a strong following all across Canada.

Their most recent accomplishments include being chosen as one of
the bands for Winnipeg radio station Power 97's "Class of 2004",
which includes regular rotation on the most listened to rock
station in Winnipeg. Since then, requests have been pouring in,
landing High Five Drive in the coveted "Top 7 @ 7" several times,
which features the most requested bands of the day.

With all 1000 copies of their EP “…something better” being sold,
High Five Drive contracted Producer Travis Saunders to record
their first full-length album, “Service Engine Soon.” The new
album quickly cemented the relationship the band had built with
Langley, B.C. based punk label, Spawner Records. Spawner proposed
to release the album, and the marriage between the two has been
strong ever since.

Nick, Jonathan, and Nate formed a band in Grand Rapids, MI
in early 1998 and they played together harmoniously until
brothers Nick and Jonathan moved away to Fenton, MI in 2001.
Nick and Jonathan played in a few bands in Fenton until the
decision was made that Nate should rejoin the band despite
the 112.8 mile gap between cities. After 4 days of THE
SWELLERS' existence, 3 songs were written and a demo was
recorded in their basement.

After a mere 9 days of being a band, THE SWELLERS had played
their first show with Divit (Nitro Records). In the next 9
months, they had played with national acts such as Mustard
Plug, The Manges, Even In Blackouts, and The Huntingtons and
recorded a 4-song EP in Nashville, TN. In the summer of
2003, they were selected by Ernie Ball Instruments to play
the Vans Warped Tour in Pontiac, Michigan. THE SWELLERS
scored endorsement deals with Pork Pie Drums and Ernie Ball
guitars, basses, and strings, being some of the youngest
endorsees with those companies at the ages of 15 and 16.

They bring their own style to the scene, blending punk rock
with infectious rock riffs and catchy pop hooks. Their first
full length CD, "End Of Discussion", is out now.

Between 1996 and 1997, there were many punk bands appeared in succession of Beijing underground music. But only "Underground Baby", "Watcher in the Raye" can be justification, and they also search what is real punk. At same time, GAO Yang, GAO Wei, LIANG Wei, LI Peng, XIAO Rong,TU Qiang who also like punk music and come together. A part of them came from the first singleton generation. They even don't care about future of society, family and themselves. They find something useful in punk music and what they real need, so they formed some bands such as the 69, Brain Failure etc., and performed in some mini underground music party. At the beginning of 1998, a club called Scream which was near Beijing Language College (Beijing Language and Culture University), Wudaokou, Haidian district Beijing, Was formed. It dedicated sparkplug and prop up underground music in the 8th April same year, many punk bands performed together in Scream club, this seem as foretell a new underground music time will coming.
Wuliao Contingent was a underground magazine published by an Italian student Tina who study in Beijing Language College in early of 1997. the theme is introduce Beijing underground punk music and get more effects in small area. As 2 years pass by, Wuliao Contingent became a pronoun of Beijing underground punk music also including many peoples who lived with them. This is a special colony, under the fastidious cover, there were full of youthful spirit and free liver, imagination and creativity is their sign. These 4 bands are leader of Wuliao Contingent.

La mezcla original fue realizada por David Houston y el disco saldrá al mercado el 2 de Noviembre a través de SideOneDummy

The histories of some musical groups are so shrouded in legend that separating fact from fiction is nearly impossible. The Dwarves rise from Illinois paisley garage band to San Francisco punk icons to international symbols of decadence has been so fraught with misinformation that less is known about them now than when they first made the scene almost two decades ago.
