BAND BIO

Cheap Sex was forged out of a need for real, socially aware punk in the San Diego scene. With an outbreak of pop-punk and emo the scene seemed void of any punk with a hardcore/street/77 influence. Started in December of 2002 the band quickly came together and had a five-song demo. Soon after they were signed to Punk Core Records and recorded a full-length album titled Launch Off To War (Punk Core Records 2003). Release date is July 7th.

Already Cheap Sex has shared the stage with some of the biggest acts of today and yesterday, such acts are. 999, Slaughter and The Dogs, Lower Class Brats, English Dogs, The Feederz, Agent Orange, Defiance, and Icons of Filth to name a few.

With a summer tour entitled “Sex, Brats, and Rock ‘N’ Roll” Cheap Sex will hit the road with, label mates, the Lower Class Brats. This three-week tour will include many East Coast dates starting with the legendary CBGB OMFUG, and continuing down to Florida and back across through Texas.

Members in this band have been in some of the top acts in punk. The singer Mike Virus was a founding member, and original vocalist of the Philly outfit The Virus. Johnny O was in many bands including The Worthless and The Heartaches (USA). Two of the members, Gabe Skunt and Chris Blitz, were in the band P.B.R. and the Blackout Sluts.

The bands current lineup includes: Mike Virus (Vocals), Johnny O Negative (Guitar #1), Derek Dolls (Bass), Gabe Skunt (Drums), Chris Blitz (Guitar #2).

Os voy a poner un elink de la Primera maqueta de disidencia, no confundais con 'La solucion esta en tus manos', la grabaron al poco de empezar a tocar, cuando todavia ensayaban al lado de FAMOSA (que tiempos aquellos). Las canciones que hay, han salido en sus discos, algunas con la letra un poco cambiada, otras con la letra totalmente diferente, y otras igual, menos una, la de KK, que esta la cancion entera, no la mierda que sale en el apologia de lo evidente. Lo que pasa es que el sonido es bastante malillo, normal pensando en como la grabaron... pues eso, ahi va, que lo disfruteis:

The Cropknox got together in January of 2003 to record this EP. It was recorded at Seventh Circle Studios in Oakland. 500 were pressed on black vinyl. The band did it on their own label, Glue Rot Records.

The record was released on the bands own label, Glue Rot Records. Eventually, Punkcore Records got ahold of the record and expressed their interest in the band. Finally, the boys scored a deal with Punkcore and that is where we stand today. Watch out for tons of shows, tours and the full length coming out soon!

En Mayo de 1997 sale a la calle el primer disco de su trilogía "La ruta del Ché", el "No mirar", un disco corto de duración pero muy intenso de contenido, quizá sea éste el disco más cañero de Boikot. Dicen que, dependiendo donde grabes, luego se refleja en el contenido del disco y en este se puede imaginar la lluvia y el color gris de Vigo en el mes de febrero, lugar donde fue grabado. "No mirar" fué el que menos tiempo tuvieron para componer y hacer, y se puede palpar en el contenido del disco por lo directo y contundente del mismo. También aparecen las primeras versiones grabadas por Boikot, "Tommy Gun" de los Clash y "Zu atrapa tu arte" de Kortatu.

En octubre de 1997 se plantan en México para grabar la segunda entrega de la trilogía "La ruta del Ché", el "No escuchar". Con este disco, Boikot, comienza a influenciarse con ritmos latinos y abrirse musicalmente utilizando otros instrumentos y ritmos más cálidos. Se graban diez temas y en ellos colaboran grupos mexicanos como: Vantroi, Limbo Zamba, Escarbarme y Guillotina. El sonido respecto a discos anteriores ha evolucionado y la parte vocal ya no es sólo cosa de Juankar, Alberto Pla canta "La Habana" y estrofas de "Isabel" e incluso "Mentiras" que cantan los cuatro alternándose las estrofas. No podíamos pasar por alto la versión de "Hasta Siempre", del cantautor cubano Carlos Puebla, con una lógica aceleración-boikotera que hace de este tema uno de los más requeridos por el público en sus conciertos.

Febrero del 98 es el mes elegido para el lanzamiento de "No callar", el último disco de la trilogía "La ruta del Ché", el más completo y el que más gusta a sus seguidores. En este disco, grabado en Argentina, es mucho más palpable la influencia de ritmos latinos, invitando de nuevo a grupos de allá a que dejen su esencia porteña. Destacar también la colaboración de Beba, Madre de Mayo, quien grabó un emotivo mensaje en "Pueblos III".

Potrotaino (Ordizia, 1984), uno de los grupos históricos del punk vasco, vuelven a escena trás un parón forzoso de más de dos años en los que les ha pasado prácticamente de todo: marcha de componentes, un derrame cerebral que sufrió su batería (ya antes, otro batería del grupo fue asesinado por un guardía civil de un tiro por la espalda), accidentes, operaciones , y hasta su manager de siempre les dio el palo. A great politically charged band. Not as heavily political as CRASS, but great well thought out meaninful lyrics are there. Lots of anti-war protests that will surely change the minds of people who only like A//political bands to liking punk bands that are willing to make something happen too. If you think these types of bands are a waste of time you're wrong cos it may not be changing the world but it is changing people's attitudes. You first have to start with yourself. Skeptix are much like the Exploited. They are both in between the gap of Anarcho punk and Oi! like many other UK82 bands such as VICE SQUAD who don't believe in dividing apart. So if you're into the Exploited, the Skeptix are definately something you'll like.

This is pure, aggressive, sing-a-long 80's Oi!/pogo/street punk. This group of spiky haired drunk punx influenced such great modern acts as The Casualties, The Krays, Endless Struggle and Funeral Dress, and if you don't know those guys maybe you should get them too. It is missing a few classics like any "best of" CD but its got most of the material from their early EPs so it's definitely worth a few bux. So get it! Cheers! !DrGuttrLuv!

este Cd grabado para Potencial Hard-Core y una demo (que a mi parecer esta mejor)editada por Mil A Gritos , el sello de los Soziedad Alkoholika y con los que alguno de ellos tienen el parentesco de hermanos , es lo unico que , que yo sepa tienen grabado

Oídos Sordos ha publicado recientemente una estupenda edición en vinilo verde del último trabajo de los torrelaveguenses Kloakâo, Cuzâo de galinha, editado con anterioridad por Potencial HC. Este disco es una excelente muestra de la evolución que ha sufrido el grupo; si bien el estilo sigue siendo similar (punk con toques melódicos), las composiciones han alcanzado cotas de notable calidad. A Kloakâo les interesan innumerables temas de corte social y político (echa un vistazo a su página web), por lo que las letras de sus canciones son un fiel reflejo de sus preocupaciones: el maltrato a animales, la especulación de terrenos, la situación actual de los trabajadores... . Mi canción favorita del disco es Imperiales, no solo por su letra (magistral, tratando un tema que quizás no sea muy conocido), sino sobre todo por su rapidez y melodía, con unos coros que hacen de ella un himno sublime del punk melódico, marca de la casa. Si aún no tenías el CD de kloâkao, aprovecha esta oportunidad de conseguirle en vinilo, y si ya le tenías, píllale también, que vale la pena.

What happens when a struggling band like Lifetime finally gets the underground recognition and following they deserve only to break up soon after their popularity explodes? Simple — they start another band to try and recapture that fame (with some additional help by the tag "featuring ex-members of Lifetime"). Not that the band Kid Dynamite is riding on the coattails of their previous band — as a matter of fact, the guitarist is the only former member of Lifetime but unfortunately it's impossible for them to escape that niche. But they try their hardest with more energy and aggression (dare it should be said, more of an East Coast hardcore sound) under the influences of Gorilla Biscuits and Sick of It All. Sure, there's the occasional moment of harmonized whoa-uh-oh's that are reminiscent of Lifetime, but make no mistake that Kid Dynamite is a whole new project that's starting from scratch. — Mike DaRonco




Philadelphia emo quartet Kid Dynamite was formed in 1997 by ex-Lifetime guitarist Dan Yemin, who recruited bassist Steve Ferrel and drummer/fellow Lifetime co-founder David Wagenschutz for regular practice sessions which in time yielded a vocal-free demo cassette. With the addition of singer Jason Shevchuk, the group played their first live dates, and upon completing the demo signed to Jade Tree to issue their self-titled debut LP in 1998. Ferrel soon left Kid Dynamite, and with new bassist Michael Cotterman the quartet completed its sophomore album Shorter, Louder, Faster. Prior to the record's release, however, Shevchuk quit the band, and after playing a farewell show on February 19, 2000, Kid Dynamite dissolved.

Os dejo un directo q todo el mundo debería tener... el "Algazara" de Reincidentes...


Este doble CD en directo incluye 34 canciones, 2 de ellas son nuevas ("La Unidad" y "Cuerpo Muerto") y dos versiones ("Pan de higo" de Leño y "Sheena is a punk rocker" de los Ramones). Los conciertos de Reincidentes son lo mas parecido, musicalmente hablando, a un orgasmo múltiple y sus canciones se entrelazan una tras otra sin darte apenas un respiro. Este fenómeno es tan acusado que el primer CD parece estar formado por una única pista. El disco cuenta con varias colaboraciones, Evaristo (La Polla) que pone su inconfundible voz al tema "Camela 3", sin duda el mejor del disco, el Drogas (Barricada) o el cantaor El Cabrero que canta "Andalucía entera", pero a un ritmo tan lento que debió aburrir a todo Marinaleda y parte del extranjero. Frente a la lentitud de este corte, el tema "No somos nada" versioneado por los Porretas es lo más rápido y desfasado que jamás se haya escuchado en un álbum de Reincidentes. Por último y no por ello menos importante, Javier Chispes (Banda Jachís y ex-Maniática) pone la voz al tema "Vota a nadie" y el productor de todos sus discos, Juanjo Pizarro, mete la guitarra en algunos cortes. En este disco Reincidentes versionean sus propias canciones, que no suenan igual que en los anteriores, pero ahí reside la gracia del directo, un directo 100% Reincidentes y 100% recomendable en el que Reincidentes siguen fieles a su estilo, rock duro y acelerado con claras referencias a Barricada y La Polla cuyos cantantes, curiosamente, participan en el disco.

Crummy Stuff represent one of Italy's best punk bands, and their work is also heard and appreciated in other European countries


The band was born in may, 1994; in october of the same year they put out the Non Duri Molto demotape. Stupid Man, one of its 11 track, gets included in the Flower Punk Rock compilation, a fundamental step for the italian punk rock scene of the 90's, put together by Senzabenza with McGuffin records and which came out in march, 95. On the following month 6 tracks are recorded on the self produced 7" El Coche Loco. In january 1996 the band contributes with a song in italian to the No Time To Panic compilation (with such bands as NoFx, Gigantor, etc) and in march of the same year, following several gigs and excellent reviews, they put out their first full lenght lp Punk's Not Sad, this time as a coproduction with Fridge records. During 1996 many dates take the band around Italy and also in Spain, where a first Basques countries- only tour is followed by another tour that in april 1997 touches Alicante, Madrid, Caceres, Bilbao and Bakio. This experience also gives birth to a small book called Gira Crummy Stuff. No Cocco Oil, a new track, appears on a CD Rom called 'L'antologia illimitata', a tribute to the great comics artist Andrea Pazienza. In october, 1997 the band films a video in which 101 punk rockers from all over Italy simultaneously play the title track of the new album Never Trust a Punk that comes out at the beginning of 98. Some appearances on TV shows like Il muro and Com'è (on Odeon TV and Tele+) are the opportunity to promote the video that gets showed on some private channels. In the meantime C.S. take part to some other compilations like Extreme Pulp, Casio Promo cd, the Rock Sound magazine CD sampler, Rumore di Fondo. On february, 99 they take part to a TV show about punk on Tele+ with guests like Fatur, Helena Velena and Krisma; Crummy Stuff play a live set. In july Non Duri Molto is the chosen track for the french compilation Tout A Fond. On march, 2001 the latest album Fuck Europe is out for Ammonia records; it's been recorded at Jungle Sound Studios in Milan by Livio Magnini, it contains 17 new tracks. In april of the same year they appear again on the Rock Sound CD sampler, and in may the official site is finally active at the address http://surf.to/crummystuff. From then on they take part to some important concerts like the Deconstruction Tour with NoFx, Good Riddance and others, the Beach Bum festival with Joe Strummer and Shelter, until they open for Bad Religion's only italian date at the end of august. Other compilations like the International Punk Rock Box Set from Canada, United Kids (put together by Vitaminic) and 2001: A Punk Odissey (Ammonia records) increase the list of participations. At the end of july, 2001 they release the Fuck €urope/We'll Be As One video, produced by Ghoul records and directed by Simone de'Rosa. At the end of october their 7" El Coche Loco is reprinted on a CD that also includes Senza Risposte (previously available on the No Time To Panic compilation) and the whole remastered demotape Non Duri Molto.

Street Punk. You know the kids that walk around in combat boots and have really spikey hair, and they have tons of patches and crap. This is the style of punk they like. I love this CD. Every song is crafted so well. They have a good mixtures of some old songs, and live songs. Love it.



Phillys punk heroes cant be stopped. Rocking harder then just about any band out their, this album has good live performances, and also their best studio releases. Hardcore punk can survive through metalcore and emocore, posing as the real thing, and The Virus is an example of that. Philly Punx.

It's the beginning of a new cycle in the Misconduct's career? It's seems to be true listening to their new mini-cd released by the new-born Ollo's personal label, Side By Side Records. In this ep Misconduct show us their yet well-know skill bringing some new elements to their classic sound. From the uncompromisingly strong and speedy hardcore of the debut records to the slight street-core influences of "One Last Try", passing from the melodic ouvertures of "A New Direction" (maybe their best work to date), now the news Misconduct's songs seems to have a renewing melodic hardcore shove. The title track and Every day are two remarkable tracks where the unmistakable echoes of the old school perfectly combine with the harmonic traits of punk rock,
while the pleasant cover of Bob Marley's Iron lion zion - with an extraordinary reggae-core part! - display the joyful side of the Scandinavian quartet. Misconduct are one of the best hc band around and one of that names that who love people like Shelter, Ignite, but also early Pennywise, must include in his own playlist: "New Beginning" is a very good introduction to their new full lenght on Bad Taste Records that should be in the stores within few months Magazine Munezza.tk



A bit of an unusual one for me. This is old school Hardcore through and through. Normally bands like this bore me to tears because the music is so simple it just gets boring, especially for people used to more variety that you tend to get in (most) metal.


Misconduct however have almost revived my enthusiasm for this genre with their brand new album by delivering sixteen short, sharp Hardcore anthems with enough aggression to keep me happy. This may be due to the vocals, which avoid the usual skweaky old school Youth Of Today style in favour of a shoutier, deeper approach, sometimes coming across like Roger Miret and at others almost like Dwid Integrity. Despite this, these Swedes have not forgotten how to do cool back-ups and catchy chorus lines. This is probably my fave old school HC album at the moment, but I don't have that many to start with, so make of that what you will.

We got in contact with a bunch of Korean punks a while ago and we decided to help them out with distributing and promoting their upcoming compilation album.
The album is out right now (see picture) and for sale through our webshop. The compilation contains 30 (!) Korean bands, is recorded very well and the artwork looks awesome. Sounds range from Rancid like ska punk to thrashy old school. It seems most Korean punks are into the mohawk and skin scene; they all look pretty heavy compared to most dutch punks at the moment.
We're really wondering what's it like to be a punkrocker down in south east Asia.
We also have contacts with Malaysia and Indonesia, both those scenes are really into extreem metalcore and deathmetal for the most part. It seems like the more religious the country, the more satanic the punkculture. In that prospect Korea is really a very liberal country it seems. (we're talking South Korea off course, I don't think any punks will wander free in North Korea).
You can't stop punkrock; it will spread like wildfire throughout the world, never minding any political or cultural boundaries. Young people everywhere are searching for a true identity and many of them will discover punk as a means of expression. We love that and Tocado will always try to help any punkscene however isolated it may seem.

This is the band that has totally redeemed Fat Wreck Chords. Sure there have been some okay releases here and there (I’m drawing a blank outside of Avail) but with the acquisition of D4 the label actually has something that you should buy. For the unaware, Dillinger Four are a punk rock band from Minnesota. Plain and simple. Many try to lump them into the overcrowded pop-punk category due to their great harmonies and light hearted nature of some songs. But that doesn’t do the band justice. There are some songs on all of their releases and especially on Situationist Comedy that are tough as fucking nails. To give as accurate of a description of their sound D4 balances out harmonies with a very raw and noisy edge and works perfectly. This is the best band that punk rock has going for it right now.

Situationist Comedy is no different from their other efforts in so far as it contains hilarious song titles, cryptic and very well written lyrics, and great punk rock songs. The dueling vocals of Erik and Paddy are pretty well balanced out on this album as well but with the placement of the songs on the album it just seems to be jumping back and forth with singers. I don’t know what the this is but it’s pretty akward and at times breaks the pace of the album. The only other bad thing is a minor one. WHERE THE FUCK ARE ALL THE SAMPLES? Granted, the disc starts out with a great sample of a Japanese guy randomly shouting something having to do with Dillinger Four but the borrowed lead ins that made their albums so classic and unique are very rare here. Oh well.

Either way, D4 have certaintly given us a great album that will serve as a good introduction for the kids who’ve never even heard of the band but will surely pick it up because of all the hype that will surround it and just because it’s on Fat. Whatever it takes, right?
