Después del grave accidente de Natxo (Cicatriz), accidente que cortó la carrera del grupo hasta el 91, el cuarteto vitoriano reaparece con su segundo trabajo "4 años, 2 meses y 1 día", el sonido de este disco se acerca a postulados más duros. Ya tengo x akí algo grabado con el grupo, en plan super cutre y tal, lo q pasa q no está grabada la pista del cantante... fue royo de "va q me grabo yo!" (cuando yo no kanto, jajaja) pero os kedan dias, como mucho un par de semanas pa degustar algo horriblemente gracioso xD

De momento os dejo, si os parece, el elink a una intro de una cancion del anterior grupo de mi cantante: Expolio.

En serio q no tiene perdida, si os kuesta bajarla esperad, dejadla dias, xDD pero de verdad q se sale, es roio kamara okulta en una iglesia.. :P

The sound of "droppage" on my doormat this time signalled the arrival of Sugarcult's new single, "Memory" which is out on June 7th in time for their latest UK tour, which starts on June 13th. "Memory" is the first single from Sugarcult's new album "Palm Trees and Power Lines" you can see the review of the album elsewhere on the website. The single contains the title song "Memory" along with a song, which was published on their Japanese release entitled "Blackout" and followed by an acoustic version of "Memory".

"Memory" starts with that enticing drumbeat which drags you straight into the track. Followed up with the familiar voice of lead singer Tim Pagnotta (or Pagzilla as he has recently been referring to himself). This song has classic "Sugarcult-isms" including the powerful drumbeat and the guitar solos as a break before sucking the listener right back into the pit of the song. Along with those harmonious voices which make Sugarcult's music all so individual.

"Blackout" is considerably slower than "Memory, however this is still a track which keeps the pace moving consistently. You are dragged along in a feeling of not quite being able to relax but not quite able to energise yourself enough. You are left in limbo, which focuses the mind on the song itself helping to give true meaning to this song.

"Memory" in its acoustic version is a song in itself. The energy, which is apparent in the original recording, is lost in this harmonious mix, which carries the pace and the feeling of the song, but on a much calmer level. The guitar solo is still included and amazingly still works even though the feeling in the original version is that this break gives yet more energy to the song. Here the break is more of a reflection of what has already happened. Added to the fact that I am a sucker for acoustic versions, I feel this song works incredibly well!
