In the days of drought of R´n´R, all we are obsessed in finding "the next big thing", and that is good because to this search we paid attention to artists who to us would perhaps happen inadvertent. Now that the Scandinavian scene seems something exhausted, many of us we have put our glance in Canada, you develop them scenic of Black Halos or Danko Jones is of known surpluses, because in this context the album appears to us debut of CJ Sleez and their band of partisans. Half Barbie wrist, half bastard daughter of Axl Rose, this jovencísima twentyish contained in leather and naked means, gathers the witness of scenic power of other illustrious predecesoras, Wendy Or or but recent Texas Terri. It says to be influenced from Eddie Cochran to Guns N´ Roses, happening through garageros stands for casks like The Sonics, musically shows preference for a very dirty punk-rock of high voltage, sustained by his personal voice and a correct band, where they both emphasize guitars, Stacey T. Rat and Steevi Saint, bear and singer of the very recommendable stoogianos The Sinisters. In songs like "Sweet Release", to "Gutter Dolls" or "Still Born", the essence of this band is appraised, with that puñetazo in form of riff, and with those letters that the revolt against the established thing reflects, that would have to be the flag of the youth of nowadays. The CD has a presentation of luxury, with a libreto filled with photos that they give completely in aesthetic sleaze-glam, filled with games, as crucigramas with the name of subjects or one to dress to a CJ undresses. They even include a pair of tiny dices in the plastic box!!!!. To the delay of its disembarkation in the States and Europe, in my opinion CJ it has all the numbers to become the winner of this race, and your, that you lost the ass after Texas Terri, you do not forget hacerte with this CD.

These four burly, boots-n-braces boys from Austin started a few years back, broke up, then came back together for this release of football-chant anthems. They bring a sound that harkens back to Ye Olden Days of bands like Sham 69, the Cockney Rejects, the Destructors, and the 4Skins, replete with lyrics about drinking, fighting, and being a skinhead. Most of the songs have a by-the-numbers approach, but the notable exceptions are "A Song About Texas," with conjunto accordion and the second half of the lyrics en Español, and ska-style rhythms on "King of Rudeness" and "Oi! to the Drinkin Boys." There's also a cover of local bootboys the Contradicks' anti-racist rant, "It's Your Turn." The production is crisp, with a beefy guitar sound, kerosene-throat vocals, and unison choruses. Just when you thought that stuff like this had fallen by the wayside, bands like the Oi!strs pick up the ball and kick it downfield again. Pour yourself a Guinness, close your eyes, and you can almost imagine it's Britain
We were brought together in the local skinhead scene by our shared love of Oi and our need for good music at our house parties. Twelve Pack Bob (Drums), Ethan "Ham Hoc" (Guitar), and Puddin' (Vocals) started the band in mid 1995 with the notion that they would play at a few house parties and maybe a few local shows and that would be it. They auditioned a few bassists to no avail. They asked friend, musician and fellow skinhead MC Truth for help in finding the bass player they needed. Truth found Brian "Tuna" Can. Brian was the last cog in the wheel. The band was complete. Since then, it has been show after show. Barring a six month period of total chaos, The Oi!strs have been playing continuously for four years, countless shows and many miles.

a benefit compilation for the CCR (Center for Constitutional Rights), a non-profit legal and educational organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This compilation is boasting 25 blazing tracks from some of todays greatest up and coming artists. T.I.Y.E. is compiled of mainly unreleased and rare tracks.
This CD is meant to let young people know that there is an organization out there (CCR) that uses the law the way is meant to be used, to protect the rights of every single body regardless of race, sex, or class.
--------------------------
This is Your Establishment isn’t the typical themed CD compilation with similar artist, singing similar melodies that almost seem to run together as one, long track. Instead, This is Your Establishment is a diverse assortment of bands seemingly spanning the entire punk genre as we know it. In fact it seems that every sub-genre (from pop-punk to metal-influenced tracks) is represented here on this album. Bound to please even the most biased listeners with a least a few of the 25 cuts, This is Your Establishment features everyone from the now mainstream Yellowcard and Rufio to lesser known, up-and-coming bands who offered demo’s to the mix, such as Places to Park and Schatzi.
Highlights on the record include the slick, sugary, “I Love the Way She Said L.A.” from Spitalfield and “Valentines Day” by Day Two with it’s mixture of screaming and soaring vocals. Other bonuses from This is Your Establishment are the previously unreleased tracks from such bands as Dynamite Boy, Near Miss and Kissing Chaos who’s song, “Last Days of the Suicide Kid,” should not be overlooked.
The beauty of the compilation is that in there is a huge variety, in every aspect of the music, including a wide range of lyrical content and differing production quality. This goes however, to create an truly unique sounding album that guarantees each and every song be different from the previous one, bringing individuality to the compilation.
In addition to providing the listener with new tracks and rare material, the album serves a second purpose as a benefit record for the Center for Constitutional Rights, a nonprofit legal organization that seeks to promote and advance the rights promised by the U.S. Constitution. This makes This is your Establishment a great way to hear new bands and new material as well as give back to a worthy cause.

Rock ’N’ Roll Napalm, the debut album from The Resistoleros, explodes out of the gate with dueling guitars ablazin'. Led by former Fang frontman Sammytown, the band rips through 13 original songs heavily steeped in Dead Boys/Stooges swagger with attitude to spare and more than enough chops to back it up.
The Resistoleros "Rock 'N' Roll Napalm (Steel Cage)
Kick Ass! The Resistoleros crank it out low-down, mean, and nasty like a bunch of filthy, sleaze-lovin' dregs of society flyin' high on booze, smack, and cheap, gutter crawlin' sex appeal. Theirs is a sordid, unsavory sound of pure, undiluted Rock n' Roll at it's most primal, reckless, and heinous with a frenzied, Bowery-style blitz and plenty of ballsy , gut-slashing attitude. The vocals are defiantly delivered with a gruff and belligerent air of devil-may-care surliness. The smokin', high-octane guitar leads simmer in a thick and heavy bombardment of swaggering, drug-addled riffs ala the Dead Boys, Electric Frankenstein, and Dead Man's Choir. The bass and drums roar like a caterwauling graffiti-covered subway train violently rumbling through the seedy, rat-infested underbelly of New York City. No doubt about it, The Resistoleros rock it hard, play it dirty, and shake it loose!! If Sid Vicious, Johnny Thunders, and Stiv Bators were alive today, they'd be feverishly shootin' up a vein-blistering supply of grade "A" street heroin to the decadent, thundering noise destruction of Rock 'N' Roll Napalm. (cd)-Moser(UNDER THE VOLCANO #77 New York) http://underthevolcano.net
ROCK AND ROLL NAPALM - The Resistoleros (Steel Cage)
Do we really need another band whose liner notes spruik that they want to turn the clock back to "relive the screaming guitars of the Dead Boys, to see the drunks and the junkies before the habits came home"? Or whose stated ambition is to "drink like Sid, look like Billy and fuck like Iggy"? The answer is yes, and in the great Ken Shimamoto's (paraphrased) words, "if you don't have dreams you have nightmares". Live fast, die young cliches aside, the Resistoleros want to BE your rock and roll nightmare - and that in itself is an admirable sentiment.
Don't know much about this Bay Area band except that singer Sammytown was in a well-regarded/reviled Berkley outfit called Fang and the Resistoleros are on Steel Cage, the estimable Philadelphia label that gives oxygen to all manner of cool bands but has a leaning towards Scum Rock. Named after a brand of glue, The Resistoleros have streetpunk blood in their veins but seem to draw more on the tuneage of bands like the Humpers, Electric Frankenstein or the early Clash rather than out-and-out sonic vandalism.
There's a dose of U.K. football terrace chants in some of the choruses ("Resistoleros" and the catchy "Desperate Times") and an accomplished edge to the guitarwork of Alby Wasted and Jonny Manak that puts them a chord ahead of the pack. More like the (Aussie) Hitmen or the (New York) Dictators than your average gutterpunks but, hey, even the Dead Boys had a degree of musicality to them. Any band that has a song "Caught With Your Panties Down" certainly won't object to that last comparison.
Engine rooms are often overlooked which is a crime because there might be rock but there sure ain't any roll wiithout a good pairing anchoring it down. They don't come much better than Brian Shaffer on bass and Ike Eischener on drums.
There's a dearth of 9/11 songs in the Real Rock category (you're not really going to count Broooce are you?) so "9/11" fills a gap with a seeming pro-U.S. sentiment, which is a rarity. Not that you should count these guys in the politcal rock camp - these are songs about angst and grit, not politico shit. If there's a criticism it's that a few of the songs merge into each other, but that's down to the relentless nature of the guitar attack more than anything. There are, however, enough high points to justify giving this more than a passing listen. (I-Bar Sydney, Australia) http://www.i94bar.com/

A little-known Glasgow-based Oi band that originally formed in
1979 and split up after only a few years, External Menace
regrouped in the mid-'90s with new lead singer Ian Welsh
(replacing original member Wullie Hammill, who had died in the
late '80s), original guitarist John Sneddon, and a revolving door
of rhythm sections. The new lineup released several EPs, split
singles, and compilation tracks, finally gathering the lot in
2004's The Process of Elimination. Welsh and Sneddon play with the
fire of kids half their age, and most of the album sounds like it
could have been recorded in 1981. The songs, however, are a pretty
hit-or-miss lot, with far too many songs that sound like your
basic standard-issue, three-chord speed punk and not enough
inspiring lyrics to make up for the sameiness of the tunes. The
Process of Elimination isn't bad, exactly, but it's a whole lot of
nothing special, the sort of album that only devoted Oi and street
punk fans can really get behind.
------------------------------------------
An old U.K. band returns, which is not unusual for the last year or so. I don't think many bands nowadays can pull off the early 80's U.K. punk sound and make it sound good, except for a few, and this is one of them. And they even throw in a cool ska-ish riff once in a while! Great unique stuff.
Since their appearance on the legendary No Future compilation in the early '80s, this UK band have been producing great punk along the lines of GBH, Stiff Little Fingers, Varukers and The Threats.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first serious line up got together in summer 79. Although I had been jammin with a few people, writing songs etc for a few years before that, but couldn't get a permanent singer or drummer. I met Willie and Rab in 79 and we got things together pretty quick after that. Played over 20 gigs and made our first demo before the year was out.
Current line up is Mark (drums), an old mate from the early 80's in Glasgow. Jonah (bass) who I met a few years ago when I moved to Manc. He's played in various bands over the years as has Mark. Andy (vocals). I also met Andy when I was touring a couple of years ago. This is his first band and he's only done 3 gigs so far. He's doing ok, but will have to watch it vocal wise. Just learn to pace himself cos he tends to put too much in early on at gigs and loses his voice and myself on guitar.

(REVIEW BY COUNT VON BOXMUNCHER)
When I envision the movie they’ll someday make about my life, I imagine the Deadly Weapons on the soundtrack. It’s the final scene. I’ve just killed my asshole boss with a tire iron (Don’t worry, he deserved it). I’ve got his body stashed in the trunk of my car. I’m gunning it down the interstate en route to Mexico. I’ve got the top down. I start my CD player and crank up the volume. Then you hear “I’m A Sicko” blasting forth in all its crude, obnoxious, fuck-off glory. I sing along and pump my fist in the air. The credits roll.....
I was sitting around plotting my boss’s murder the other day when it occurred to me that there aren’t nearly enough hate-spewing punk bands fronted by majorly-fuckable fat chicks. So the sudden arrival of this disc was rather fortuitous. Led by sassy Bobbyteens shouter Tina Lucchesi, San Fran’s Deadly Weapons recall a time when tasteless, offensive, intentionally-stupid punk rock delighted unruly teens and horrified prudish parents. The 13-song Get Right In There clocks in at a mere 18.5 minutes, dispensing with the bullshit and getting right down to the business of assaulting your eardrums. This is REAL punk rock, brother: angry, nasty music for anti-social miscreants who exhibit a pronounced abhorrence for the entire human race. BobbyTina can scream with the best of 'em, and she’s ably backed by a band that possesses the efficiently destructive power of a steamroller. Embittered reprobates who cringe every time the word “punk” is used to describe the sissified teenpop drivel brought forth by the likes of Good Charlotte will surely approve of the Deadly Weapons’ rancorous ass-kicker thrash (oft-compared to the “old school” punk/hardcore of VKTMS and Sin 34 but spiritually more akin to the tender feelgood hits of GG Allin).
Yesterday, I played Get Right In There for six randomly-selected local punk rocker types. And two of ’em actually said the album is better than anal sex. Only one guy didn’t give the disc the thumbs-up....But he likes Crass, so he doesn’t count.

Red Alert
The group was formed in Sunderland in the North East of England around May 1979. The original line up was Steve ' Cast Iron' Smith (vocals), Tony Van Frater (Guitar), Gaz Stuart (bass and Dona (drums). After a couple of months of rehearsals we played our first gig at a carnival in Sunderland. We did a mixed set of self penned songs and a couple of Clash and UK Subs songs. We began to play at youth clubs in and around Sunderland on a regular basis. Around this time we recorded our first demo tape. The recording turned out so well that we released it as out first record. It was a four track EP entitled 'Third And Final' and as it was self financed we could only afford to press 250 copies, which we sold outside record shops and at gigs. After the release of this record Mitch replaced Dona on drums. We continued to gig in the North East of England and recorded the 'In Britain' demo. After this we recorded two tracks for the 'Carry On Oi!' album. We recorded 'SPG' and 'We've Got The Power', but only SPG was used. Then on the advise of Gary Bushell we sent the first EP and the two demos to NO Future records and within a week we had signed out first recording contract.
Over the next two years between 1981-83 we released five separate records. These were; -
- In Britain Ep (3 tracks)
- Take No Prisoners EP (3 tracks)
- We've Got The Power LP
- City Invasion (single)
- There's A Guitar Burning 12 inch EP (6 tracks)
Over this period we began touring all around England (Manchester, Leeds, London etc). There was also a steady stream of appearances on compilation albums.
After the 'Guitar Burning' EP Nobby left the band. At the same time our contract with No Future ended. We recruited a new drummer named Matty Forster and recorded some new material with the view of getting another record deal. It was not long after this, that things didn't feel right within the band. Due to family commitments and a basic dissillusionment with the Oi! and Punk scene that we felt was dying off, we decided to split the band.
Over the next couple of years that followed the 1985 split we all went our separate ways. Steve left the music scene altogether and spent most of his time drinking and playing pool. Tony began touring Europe as a second guitarist with Red London. Matty joined Red London also. Gaz went into a band which played old 70's hits at workmen clubs. It wasn't until 1989 that we began regular contact with each other again. A new music club called 'The Kazbah' opened in Sunderland and we just happened to bump into each other every now and then. It was during a conversation with the club's promoter one night that the idea of a comeback gig was first mentioned. We agreed to do it and began to rehearse together for the first time in four years. It was early 1990 that we did the gig with Red London ad Attila The Stockbroker. A full house saw a great gig which inspired us to reform on a permanent basis. Steve, Tony and Matty were happy with this but Gaz had doubts so we replaced him with Tony's cousin Tom Spencer.
In August 1990 we did our first European tour. With Red London we did gigs in France and Switzerland. This went well and led to more tours in Europe. After a couple of these tours Tom left the band and was replaced by Gaz Stoker of Red London. We also began to use a number of different drummers, one of which was Keith 'Stix' Warrington of Angelic Upstarts and Cockney Rejects fame. In 1992 we recorded the 'Blood, Sweat 'N' Beers' album for German label 'Nightmare Records'. A year later we recorded the 'Beyond The Cut' album which was a joint release by Nightmare and Knockout Records. During these periods we were touring in many parts of Europe including Belgium, Spain and Germany as well as the other countries we had already played. In 1994 we had a busy and eventful year which began with a lengthy German tour. For this tour Matty Forster's brother John was on drums. The following month, May, we did our first gigs in the USA. For this tour we took Lainey the drummer of Leatherface as John was unavailable. WE played a few gigs on the East coast including New York and New Jersey. We also did a recording session in Long Island which was released as a split album with the Templars entitled Super Yobs. When we returned we recorded the Street Survivors / Drinkin' With Red Alert double 7" EPs. In August of 1994 our current drummer Ian did his first tour with us, a three week tour in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
In 1995-96 we recorded the 'Breakin' All The Rules' album for Dojo Records. Gaz Stoker had left the band so we recruited our original bassist Gaz Stuart just to play on the album. Shortly after the recording Lainey rejoined the band but this time on bass. With this lineup of Steve, Tony, Ian and Lainey we began touring other countries such as Italy and Canada as well as the countries we previously played. This is still the lineup now. In 1998 we recorded our first album with this lineup, entitled 'Wearside' for PlasticHead Records. This was released in 1999 at the same time as 'Red Alert- The Rarities' which was twenty tracks previously unreleased, this was for Captain Oi! Records.
Over the last few years there have been many compilation and collection albums of Red Alert as well as a handful of singles on various labels. In 1999 we toured Italy and Spain and recorded some new songs which feature Charlie Harper sharing the vocals on one track with Steve. This will be released in the future. At the time of writing we are busy working on new material and organising future tours.

Blitzkid started in 1997 and at that time, the band consisted of TB Monstrosity on guitars, vokills, and bass, and Wolfgang Christopher on drums. After recording a 10 song demo just for fun titled Songs For the Aesthetically Challenged the twosome enlisted the help of Dr. Stuart Evilstein on bass. Shortly after, Wolfgang left the band and Evilstein picked up the skinbashing duties. By the fall of 1998, the band was a trio once again with the help of longtime friend Argyle Goolsby handling the bass duties. Songwriting, rehearsing, and gigs followed, and in May of 1999, they recorded the 7-song Revisited EP. This particular release showcased a more hookladen "horror rock" approach that the band had already hinted at. The recording also showcased some of the band's most popular material to date in the songs Nadine, the original recording of Slaugher At the Sock Hop, and Hate You Better.
By the winter of 1999, Blitzkid entered Lively Sound Studios in Lewisburg, WV to record the 13 song full length Terrifying Tales album. At that time, the band had become a full blown horror punk/metal band taking cues from a variety of influences such as The Misfits, The Ramones, Slayer, Type O Negative, Samhain, The Cramps, Sisters of Mercy, and Bauhaus just to name a few. Extensive gigs soon followed in their hometown as well as North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Response to the album was good and while supporting the album Blitzkid shared the stage with the likes of The Huntingtons, Newport Gestappo, Slingshot, The Ballistics, This Machine, Tempal, Bonedriven, and The Revenants among others. Live show often consists of the band members painted up like various undead things with tons of fake blood and some horror movie props. It's a fast paced, energetic and intense affair and the band has a very diverse audience of hardcore/punk/metal/and goth fans.
After longtime drummer and good friend Dr. Stuart Evilstein left the band in May 2001, (to work with the industrial goth band ARBUS) they found Billy Bones in Saltville, VA to fill the vacant spot. Having recently played shows all over the east coast with heavies like The Dead Kings, Smackin' Isiah, Mister Monster, The Independents, and Psycho Charger, the newly revamped creeprock trio quickly began work at Real 2 Reel studios in Blacksburg, VA in the summer of 2001 with the talented knob twiddler Rick Kranjak (who has produced albums for such local Virginia acts as This Machine and Simple Like You) as producer on the 12 track Let Flowers Die album. This new slab of music ranges in influences from Nine Pound Hammer, Slayer, Anthrax, Danzig, Bad Religion, The Misfits, Samhain, and The Ramones respectively. Guitarist/vokillist TB Monstrosity says "We didn't wanna make a sequel to Terrifying Tales, cause everyone was labelling us as a Misfits rip off band, not to mention makin' the same album over and over gets boring. Any band that respects itself and does what it does simply for the love of doing it will tell you that. We made a conscious effort with the new stuff not to pigeonhole ourselves. You've got everything from pop, punk, metallic sounding stuff tuned to drop D, to rockabilly, goth and a little bit of doo wop thrown in all on there, so we think that tag will no longer follow us as heavily as it did with our last couple of albums. So if you want the same old themes and a Misfits sounding band, I suggest you look elsewhere this time around. There are passages of piano, a Hammond organ and more bleak, darker sounding things on this record too. We've definitely proven ourselves as worthy of a listen on our OWN merits with this new album and I hope everyone that liked the last two releases will dig this one just as well if not better and we'll convert a few more fans along the way and increase our visibility!" Let Flowers Die was unleashed upon unsuspecting fiends December 29th, 2001.

In 2002, Blitzkid found a record label to call home in Denver, CO's @ntidote Records. The label itself is handling the split 7" release with Mister Monster, the newest release entitled Trace of a Stranger, as well as a few choice re-issues from the Blitzkid DIY back-catalog. For Trace of A Stranger, Blitzkid returned to Real To Reel in Blacksburg, VA once again with Rick Kranjak handling the production and the release should see the light of day sometime between Spring and Summer of 2003.

Formed from late elementary school dreams; Handheld is a five-player team not to be missed. Driven by speed, dual lead guitars, and a live show to write home about, Handheld strives to impact audiences of all ages in all venues. “Hands-on-music,” is an expression coined by the band to help convey their musical concept and vision, and allows listeners to grasp their music and make a personal connection to it, not just listen to it. Handheld can be described as a well-blended mixture of technical guitar riffs, melodic harmonies, and lightening fast drum fills and bass runs, with the occasional breakdown and gang vocals.
This is the fourth release from Canadian fast punk rockers - HandHeld. Six tracks of hands-on-music... A well blended mixture of fast duel guitar riffs, melodic harmonies, and killer drum fills and bass runs.

Another pop punk cd. My first conclusion was, "...oh boy, I am *like* totally excited for this cd," then I listened through it because I again said to myself, "..how bad could it be for my ears to trudge through another pop-punk cd, after-all it is only six songs." So, I decided to lift one finger and then depress it again to move the play button. I became mildly amused as the first track "Diary" began to play. The next song "Corrugated Ideas" produced a smile. This pattern of mild emotional boosts continued throuought the entire cd and, by the time I had reached the final track, "No Footsteps To Follow" I was overcome with very sentimental memories. These weren't memories of my childhood, playing with my favorite toys or my first kiss. No, these were memories of how things used to be; memories of my first steps into the world of punk rock. The Mark Worner EP made me remember the raw energy and interest that I used to have in the music.
I am older now and I have definitely been through a lot since the first days of my teen years, as anyone has, that is obvious. I have listened to countless bands proclaiming to be the best and most excellent at what they do. I have heard bands of which do not proclaim to be anything and have chosen the most modest of roads to promote themselves. Eventually, I stopped reading bios because they are usually full of those "self-proclaiming" words of bullshit. I understand though, those bands do what they do and I'll continue doing what I do. That is all aside from the point but at the same time bolsters what was previously said, my tastes have changed and there usually isn't much that can move me from the tastes that I have acquired.
I will admit that this isn't the type of band that I would usually listen to. There is something about them, though, that moves me. There is something in Handheld that holds a bit of my past. It is these memories that transcend all that I have grown to know; all that I have grown to feel. I am reminded of myself playing in a band similar to this one- a modest three-piece, belting out Face To Face-like and Screeching Weasel-esque tunes, dedicated to what we loved as fifteen year old kids.
I have concluded that I enjoy the band and their reminiscent similarities to Millencolin. I enjoy the rough, sometimes scratchy hope that they exude. I enjoy the memories that this band brings me and I can say, without a doubt, that I enjoy lot's of the music that is sent from Ontario, Canada.
There is nothing stopping me from listening to this cd again and again. In fact, I think I might enjoy listening to it two or three times in the same day (which doesn't happen very often). Keep on rocking!

To No One Else Except You“.

In Februray 1977 - because he liked the Beatles - Glenn Matlock (bassist) was pushed out of the Sex Pistols.
The original idea for a new band, including Glen, had come from Jimmy Norton who was a good friend of his. They had also been at St Martins College of Art(London) together in the early 70's.
It was rumoured as early as January '77 that Jimmy was discussing with Glen the idea of putting together a group under the working title Rich Kids. The title was an obvious one given the, then, current spate of pseudo-working class, drop out, squatting type bands already on the scene. Lets get a band together who are neither over the top nor saddled with chips on their shoulders.
During March Glen auditioned madly for band members and acquired Rusty Egan on drums and guitarist Steve New. By this time Jimmy Norton had grown disenchanted with his idea and moved on to pastures new, thus leaving a threesome consisting of Glen, vocals and bass and Rusty and Steve. Glen asked Midge Ure to join. Midge, still a few years off Bob Geldof and greater things, depending on which way you look at it, had originally been offered the job of lead vocalist with the Sex Pistols but had declined. He joined the Slik, a sort of Bay City Rollers without tartan who were so well packaged well-hyped and well over the top that they burned themselves out. The group folded so when Glen Matlock came calling Midge immediatly said yes.

Biografie
"You wanted the best and you got it, the hottest band in the land . . . Adam West!" 1 January 2003 If you recognize where that line is from, then you know what time it is. Adam West is a rock-n-roll band, period. Take Iggy & the Stooges, Black Sabbath, The Misfits, The MC5, KISS, AC/DC, and mix in the best 60s garage punk and you´ve got Adam West. Can ya dig it? Adam West has won the 2001, 2000, 1999, and 1998 Washington Area Music Association Wammie Award for Best Hard Rock Group; singer Jake Starr won the 2000 and 1998 Wammie for Best Hard Rock Vocalist. That´s six awards in four years! First things first . . . Adam West is soon to release their 4th full-length rock-n-roll opus on People Like You Records and return to Europe in September/October 2003 for a full-scale European tour. Now that that´s been said, here is some recent history: Adam West released their 3rd full-length album, the rock masterpiece Right On!, on People Like You Records (Europe) in September 2001. Right On! was released in February 2002 by the Telegraph Company in the USA. Myrmecoleo Records in Japan will release Right On! with five exclusive live bonus tracks soon. In Summer 2002, Adam West completed their 3rd headlining tour of Europe. To promote the tour, People Like You Records released a 20-song collection from the years 1993-99 called Ready Steady Adam West! A second companion 20-song collection from the years 1999-2000 called Hi-Balls Are Rolling! will be released soon by Twenty Stone Blatt Records in Scotland. Adam West was formed in the early 1990s, when singer Jake Starr decided to form a 60s garage band. Adam West started gigging around Washington, D.C. and soon built up a local following. Jake immediately started his own label, Fandango Records, and started recording and releasing Adam West material . . . totally D.I.Y. Their first single in 1993 "I Get a Sensation" was a rave-up garage slice and got Adam West international distribution by Get Hip Distribution. This record began the record collector´s nightmare that is the Adam West discography! As of Summer 2002, Adam West has released over 20 7" singles, one 10" EP, five CDs, and has made over 20 high-profile appearances on various compilation CDs. Check their discography and be scared . . . be very scared! Through all this recording and mayhem, Adam West has toured the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest and as mentioned earlier, all over Europe three times. They have rocked with some of the best bands in the genre: Hellacopters, Gaza Strippers, BellRays, Zen Guerilla, Electric Frankenstein, Candy Snatchers, B-Movie Rats, American Heartbreak, Groovie Ghoulies, D-Generation, Mud City Manglers, Silver Tongued Devil, Muffs, to name a handful. They´ve also appeared on four local cable TV shows (including two high-profile appearances on MegaHertz), played local festivals like the Taste of DC, and have gotten frequent play on local Washington-area radio (WHFS-99.1 FM, WMUC 88.1 FM, and DC-101 FM), as well as national college radio. Whew! If all this wasn´t enough to read, the REAL story is on their kick-ass website. There is where you´ll find all the accolades, scorching reviews, and killer soundbytes. So what are you waiting for? Fire up that web browser and get cracking! Adam West is Jake Starr (throat), Steve (guitar, bass), and Ben Brower (drums, guitar).

Adam West - Grassy Knoll - 2000 - Maama Jaama Records
01 - Cough, Cool
02 - Love Like A Stone
Adam West released their first fan club single in September 1993 on Fandango Records in Washington, D.C., 3 months after their debut 7" came out. It was a one-sided 7" with a cover of the Misfits ultra-rare first single "Cough/Cool." Recorded in one take by the original line-up of Adam West, "Cough/Cool" was to shock the underground music scene since no one had ever covered this Misfits song (and as of April 2000, no one has since!). This single was pressed in a strictly limited pressing of 108 copies on green vinyl. One hundred copies came with a simple black and white insert with the band name, members, and Fandango Records address. The remaining 8 copies had a mock sleeve of the original Misfits "Cough/Cool" sleeve done up by Adam West singer Jake Starr. These were passed around to band members and friends. Needless to say, the single sold out in a matter of weeks after one advertisement in MaximumRocknRoll magazine. Last heard, the single fetched $60 in an Australian record auction.
What you have in your hand is an unauthorized "reissue" of Adam West's "Cough/Cool" single backed with an unreleased take of an original song, "Love Like A Stone." Adam West re-recorded "Love Like A Stone" in 1994 for inclusion on the "Capitol Crisis" compilation CD on Cyclops Records. This original version of the song is right outta the archives, brother!
So dig it: This single is limited to 300 copies, tripling the original pressing. Maama Jaama Record is proud to release this rock-n-roll gem! Glenn Danzig would be proud!

Batman. KAWUMM.
WEST. Irgendwie nachvollziehbar?
ADAM WEST klingt schroff. Sie spielen eine Art less-cock-more-rock Punk.
Sie sind schnell und verwenden minimalste Akkorde. Ihre Songs basieren
auf Blues-Schemen mit zugefügten Hardcore Elementen. Appetit?
festgelegt. Er wollte (siehe oben) eine 60er Garagen Band. Und er hat
sie geformt. Ihre erste Single ("I get a sensation") erschien 1993.

Adam West has been doing cool High-Energy-Rock-n-Roll for a long time, and it's about time that people starting to recognize that. The beginning of "Right On!" is fantastic. "C'mon And Bludgeon Me" blows out your ears and there is nothing to do except keep 2 fingers up in the air, turn up the stereo, and yell the chorus. But not just the opener is a highlight on this record. "Swagger" combines a great AC/DC-riff with a Danzig-melody and takes it home with a tough and macho line like "You want a reptile? I'll give you dinosaur!" Some songs continue on like the sexy-shaking "Piece Of Ass", the party-rock tune "Gentleman's Evening" or "Erotic Neurotic" (originally by The Saints); Adam West gives the song the respectful ode to the time period of the mid-70s while updating it to today. On "Right On!", Adam West steps easily between Old-School-Rock and -Punk á la MC5, Stooges, Misfits or Devil Dogs and combines it with the sound of new heroes like Gluecifer or Backyard Babies while not forgetting to give the sound their own personal note. And the master of the voice Jake Starr didn't get his 3 awards as "Best Hard Rock Vocalist" from Washington, D.C., without definite reason!
